2D graphics package needed

I need 2D graphics functionality above
the Java 2D core library which can handle
compound objects, layers, interactivity,
annotations, SVG support etc.

Any recommendations? Free or commercial.

You can try GEF (Graph Editing Framework), a OpenSource package by Tigris:

or ycad (A Java CAD Library)
