Doesn't everybody do this?

I do my editing for most sites directly on the server. Of course, I ensure
that the servers get regular backups, so lack of local copies isn't an
issue.

You are right, Toby. What I meant was an idea, which one Australian
writer has published in his book. He was suing producers of the film but
I don't know the result of it.

Then again I suppose I do too. The server on the local network.

Then I upload it to my host's server.

Ah, I remember now, you run your own servers. Cheating :)

But even when I didn't I still did much of my editing using pico over SSH.
