3rd part list controls (to replace SELECT)

R

Rob Nicholson

Any recommendations for a 3rd party server control to replace the basic HTML
SELECT mechanism? We have encountered a problem with the control in the
NetAdvantage suite with their WebCombo and can't use the HTML SELECT
mechanism as IE ignores Z-INDEX value and always plonks them on top of
everything else inc. our nice popup message window.

I've seen a reference to http://easylistbox.com/ but wondered if anyone has
any other recommendations.

Thanks, Rob.

Hi Rob,

Welcome to ASP.NET newsgroup.
Regarding on the select box's problem with IE browser, that does be a pain
for the html pages in IE which use div layer together with the <select> box
or other activex controls. I'm not sure whether there're any other good
3rd party listboxes which are completely implememted by other mechanism,
but I think you can have a look in the
www.asp.net or www.codeproject since there're many good 3rdparty controls
or web page programming tips there.

In addition, here is a blog article which mentioned a certain means to
workaround the problem when using div which intersect with some <select>
box:

#Sample for using a DIV IFRAME shim to cover over SELECT Boxes and other
windowed controls in IE.

Hope helps a bit. Thanks,
