A msater page and detecting an "Enter" press

Hi all,

I have a master page for my site which contains amongst other things, a text
box and a button for perfroming a quick search.

This appears on every page on the site.

The problem is, when looking at a page with an additional form to be filled
in, whenever the user presses return to submit the page, its the quick search
button that is doing the submit. It never actually gets far though because
the textboxes validator kicks in.

Id like it so that if the user is in the quick search text box and presses
enter, it submits as if the quick search button was pressed. Otherwise, the
main form should be submitted.

Can anyone tell me if there is an easy way to achieve this? It seems like
quite a standard requirement.

Many thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

Kindest Regards

Simo

chaotic
partial fix
set usesubmitbehavior to false on the masterpage button.
That will fix the submit but the user will have to click the button.
good luck
