Hello folks,
I just started thinking about a db-driven, 3-tier nested option menu in
AJAX instead of the typical onchange --> post. I seem to have something
working, but the resultant formatting in IE <7 is the pits (as is Opera). I
suspect this has something to do with the way I am using <span> to block out
the form whose content changes with the onchange function. So, I am writing
to ask if there are some well-documented solutions to accomplishing
hierarchical drop-down menus.
Here is what I have:
http://canadianarachnology.dyndns.org/data/canada_spiders/Specimens3.asp
Works OK in FF and IE7, but the onsubmit causes some strange shifting of the
page contents and I'm not sure if this was a javascript (AJAX) issue, or
merely an HTML issue. If anyone can shed some light on what's going wrong
with my implementation or can provide a better solution, I would be
eternally grateful.
Thanks,
Dave
