Ruby on Rails has taken the development world by storm, and has been
playing a big role in the new wave of web application development in
North America and Europe. However, not much has been said about Ruby
on Rails in the United Arab Emirates and in the Middle East.
We want to change that reality by getting in touch with other Ruby On
Rails developers and enthusiasts, and start spreading the word about
this great technology. We are planning to informally meet every the
last Thrusday of the month in Dubai. The first meeting will take place
on Thursday January 25th at Tamanyan Terrace at the Radisson SAS Hotel

City. Feel free to join us for some beer and shisha.
Here are a few interesting news we can talk about during next meeting:
* Rails 1.2 will be out in the next few days, so Rails developers have
lots to talk about
* Discuss Rails applications in the region, like Ikbis -
http://www.ikbis.com and MapoCitae - http://map.ocit.ae/ .. Let us
know if you created a Rails app.
* Has anyone seen any Ruby on Rails book in Dubai?
