Hey

I'm attempting to sign some applets that will step outside the sandbox by
means of opening a network connection. What I want to know is there anyway
of creating a certificate instead of buying one from a "trusted authorithy"
even if its just for testing. and does anyone know if its difficult/time
consumeing to sign applets?

Thanking you niall

If you have apache & OpenSSL you can create your own certificates. There
are some good guides out there on how to do it. Do a search on OpenSSL
or Apache & create certificate.. you'll find lots of links like this..

http://www.telenovela-world.com/~spade/linux/howto/SSL-RedHat-HOWTO-3.html

which will instruct you how to do it..

After the certificate is created you can use microsoft's signcode
program to sign things, thats what I use now, I have setup a little .bat
file so I just have to call "Sign myfile" and it does everything for
me.. very quick
