Architecture confusion

Hi all,
I have been going through architecture blocks and patterns like UIP , EDRA
etc recomended by Microsoft . Sometimes its realy confusing which one to go
for. Let me tell you my requirement . Signon , catalog with pricing and
other stuff information available through web service .

Other end has the catalog information inside Com component and Sign on
thats exposed via web services.

I should be designing an architecture for accessing the User data pricing
based on the catalog, signon using webservices and catalog integeration.
Any suggestions on using an architecture prescribed by Microsoft?
