Yep, both learned and learnt are correct.
Or at least it was when I learnt/ed English ;-)

Els said:(why in the world would you be allowed to call a 'y' a consonant?)
Toby said:Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch again.
If I'm allowed to call 'y' a consonant...
rpwllgwyngyllg = 14
If I'm not...
rpwllgw = 7
Toby said:Because it often is. For example, in the word 'yellow' the
'y' is a consonant, whereas in 'fly' it's a vowel. In
'Sydney' there is a vowel y and then a consonant y.
Els said:Fair enough. But my guess is, that in the word
Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch the y
is pronounced as a vowel.

*All* eight-consonant words. If they're not in a row, you have more than
one word.
Haven't they started on the salads yet? McD has.
Mark said:Not that they are any healthier than the burgers, anyway.
Anyone else
seen Super Size Me? Scary stuff.
Huh? I guess they sent different salads to Australia, we
don't have Super Size Me's :-(
Mark said:Sorry, nothing to do with salad. It's a movie - a documentary. This guy
ate nothing but McDonald's for 30 days. You can imagine the results.
We don't have Super Size meals (one size up from large) here in
Australia either, but they did in America - McDonald's announced that
they were getting rid of them just after the movie was released.
Completely unrelated, of course!
