I've created a web project using Visual Web Developer Express and used the
ASP.NET Web Administration tool to manage the permissions. If executes fine
locally. However when I copy to my web service and login via my login form,
the page fails due to a "default settings SQL Server does not allow remote
connections`". The web hoster ("DiscountASP.NET") said this is because
Visual Web Developer Express uses SQL Server Express which they dont support
and I have to use SQL Server 2000 or 2005, this is not a problem to install.
My question is, is there another option to accomplish this w/o installing SQL
Server? I notice that the data source has a connection string path to SQL
Server Express and its tables, can I reconfigure it either in VWDE or thru my
web hosting to store the security permissions elsewhere?
thank you.
