asp object required problem

Set wApp = CreateObject("Word.Application")
wapp.Selection.Find.ClearFormatting

While use 'wapp.Selection.Find.ClearFormatting' in asp, then have error.
error msg: 'Object required: Selection'
How can I solve this problem? thx.
