Asp session problems on IIS 6 and win 2003

i have the problem of session state being lost when i move on to the
next page. i did read up on the security updates of ie 6 and understood
that there were some security updates.

if i access the site http:\\localhost then the session is lost,
if i access the site http:\\172.3.100.3 then the session works.

the weird thing is why does it work with the ip address, i also noted
that the server name doesnot have a underscore, so what is happening
here.

someone please help, i cant tell the customers to use the ip address?

Backslash and forward slash are different characters. Start by understanding
the correct one, then by using it.

Cookie behavior differs by security zone. If you put localhost into the same
security zone as the IP address, do you still have the problem?

dont appreciate the tone dude, it was a typo.

Was it a typo in your code (in which case the comment was valid, although a
bit snippy- we all do it sometimes)?
Or was it in copying your code into your message (in which case COPY and
PASTE the actual code here)?
