Title: Java ,J2EE and Web Developer
Location: Stamford, CT
Duration: 12 months +
Note: Experience in a commodity trading firm a must

Primary Responsibilities

• Performs the initial analysis of the system under the direction of
the Project Manager or other senior members of the team
• Develops and reviews programs, including coding debugging and
preliminary testing based on specifications given by the Project Lead/
Manager
• Performs unit-level testing while in development and debugs where
necessary; submits for further testing by Project Managers or other
senior members of the team; makes adjustments prior to submitting for
user acceptance testing; makes final refinements before
implementation
• Develops and/or reviews appropriate technical documentation relating
to the portions of the project that were assigned
• Conducts user training in conjunction with other project personnel
(concentration is on assigned portions of the project, but may be
called on to work with portions of the project initiated by others)
Interfaces with user support personnel to address technical quest
• ions relating to the project specifications
• Assists with evaluation of existing systems or proposed system
enhancements and hardware/software purchases when applicable to
assigned projects
• Documents daily activity and logs time spent on each assignment and
communicates to Project Manager weekly The following are the basic
qualifications:
• Bachelors of Science degree, preferably in Information Technology/
Computer Science
• Formal training in Java and Java EE preferred
• Ability to analyze and resolve day-to-day problems, manage multiple
concurrent tasks and shifting priorities, interact with technical and
user personnel and ability to work with little supervision on assigned
tasks The following are the preferred qualifications:

Required Skills :

• Five years of software development experience with Java, Java EE
and Web development
• Strong working knowledge of Java EE application servers (preferably
WebLogic)
• Strong knowledge of database structure and design
• Strong working knowledge of Oracle SQL, PL/SQL and Database
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written
communication skills
• Experience in a commodity trading firm
• Experience in large project development, development lifecycles,
development methodologies and project scoping
• Solid understanding of Web technologies including HTML, JavaScript,
CSS, Servlets, JSP and Struts Solid understanding of Java EE patterns
and Object-Oriented Programming
• Understanding about issues related to scalability and reliability
