    I have background image.
It is the last image to load... and I'd like it to be the first one to
    appear.

I have tried a Dreamweaver behavior : preload image. But it doesn't
    solve this problem.

A way to do that ?

The order in which page elements are downloaded is really up to the
    browser.

Generally page backgrounds are bigger, but less important than images
specified in <img> elements, which is why they tend to be put to the back
    of the queue.

dont think its possible to get the bg image to dl first, preload image wont help either (as u
    already know)

Use a bgcolor closest to the image - that will give your page some
credibility until the background image appears.
