Hi,
My perl program will scan through the directory for *.TAB Files

which are tab-delimited text file.
There is a possibility that the files may get corrupted and
become
unreadable. How can i identify such files using Perl/Shell
Scripting.
The files are residing in a Solaris machine.
These may be ported from other Platforms like Windows.

How can i know whether a file is in UNIX/Win recognised file
format

Thanks and regards,

How could that happen? Disk errors?

Depends on how they are corrupted.

Is that what you are referring to when you say "corrupted"?
