Since when is not having an ALT attribute for
an image an error??

Since 1997, possibly before.

These people are only trying to help you. You clearly do not have the
level of expertise that many of the regular expert posters here do --
please try to listen to their suggestions.

Most of the page at the moment is made up of images...the
design structure of the page. There is no text content yet.

Which has been shown to be, possibly, the worst way to design web pages.
You are a print designer, yes?

Actually this is a website I took over, I did not originally design it.
It was from a designer before me and this is the design that the client
liked...I am trying to "fix" it.
add this to the body tag:
topmargin="0"

Thank you The One, this solved it. And thank you everyone who responded
in a civil matter. I never said I am an expert and sorry I obviously
chose the wrong Google Group, you're all way above me. I'm but a
peasant.

You can also remove rightmargin="0" as that doesn't do anything in
anything.

Interestingly, when I saved your (old) page "complete", Firefox or IE
apparently added the topmargin bit automatically. Strange...

Hi Klloyd,

He didn't mean the site I don't think. Regarding this:
Chalk up another one for 'Ingorance'! What a world we are in now!

What he meant is that this isn't a Google Group -- it's a newsgroup on
Usenet. Google Groups provides a sort of gateway through to Usenet. Much
like email is traditionally accessed through an email client, but webmail
has become popular in later years, Usenet is traditionally accessed through
special software called a newsreader, and Google Groups provides a web
interface.

When you use Google Groups, can you please make sure that you quote the
messages you are replying to? For those of us using newsreaders the context
of the message isn't always as obvious as it when using Google Groups, so it
helps us discuss the current topic a lot more effectively if you quote.
Please see the links below to find out how.

Thanks, and good luck with your site. This is actually an exceptionally
good place to get information on HTML, once you get used to the way it works
it is in fact one of the best places. Don't give up on it too quickly :p

At the risk of putting even more words into the poster's keyboard, I
took his comment not as anything about Usenet vs Google, but rather as
a criticism that The One's "fix" was bogus and an obsolete technique.

Hey thanks Nik. I'd never used a Usenet before, as if you couldn't tell
:) Thank you everyone for the education and the help...seriously. I
apologize to anyone who I may have frustrated, hope I didn't ruin
anybody's day! And no I won't give up on it.
