I'm looking for a Python binding of jpgraph that is more up-to-date and
complete than that from metagram.webreply.com, which is documented as not
supporting Gantt charts. I, alas, need Gantt graphs.
In my PS below I list a number of pointers to potential solutions to my
plot/chart needs, all of which, at a glance anyway, either don't produce
professional-looking results or don't have those blasted Gantt charts.
It is a pity that jpgraph has become so popular without having bindings to
any decent language, indeed, to any language other than PHP.
Thanks for any info,
Greg
PS: places where I have peeked:
To generate jpg's and png's (maybe gif's):
binding for jpgraph:
metagram.webreply.com
binding for plotutils:
biggles.sourceforge.net
biggles.sourceforge.net/libplot ?
binding for gnuplot:
sourceforge.net/projects/gnuplot/
gnuplot-py.sourceforge.net/
binding for gdchart:
www.nullcube.com/software/pygdchart2.html
Other possibilities:
The ReportLab Toolkit (plots/charts is just on piece):
www.reportlab.org
matplotlib.sourceforge.net
DISLIN (scientific data plotting):
www.dislin.de
There is also the commercial product ChartDirector, but they don't ship
source.
