can I publish changes only in 2005?

I'm using Studio 2005. Seems no matter what, I get the "Existing files
in the destination location will be deleted" prompt, then of course it
takes forever because it moves EVERYTHING over again.

My assumption is that web publishing in vs2005 wasn't finished in time
so they pulled it out into the web deployment project, which doesn't
seem to integrate with the publishing feature, rendering both rather
retarded. My guess is that it will be fixed with the first sp.
