Can onitemcommand be together with onsortcommand on the same grid?

hello i have

OnItemCommand="GetSelectedItem"
and
OnSortCommand="SortCommand_OnClick"

on the same grid. problem is that when on sort command in click it runs the
GetSelecteedItem method then only goto the sortCommand_onclick method. what
is this happening? thanks.
