Yes, it can. I have VS.NET 2002, VS.NET 2003, and VS2005 Beta1 all installed and working on the same machine. And so far, no
problems. BUT,,,,,,,,,,,I also made a complete backup of my hard drive by using Ghost to copy it to another hard drive BEFORE,
installing VS2005 Beta1. And I followed the install procedure exactly as the docs with Visual Studio 2005 Beta1 state.
Now, having said all that, I would recommend that you use Virtual PC if you can to run it. Or, install it on a machine seperate
from your main system. If I did not have several removable hard drives for backup, I would not have installed it on my system
other than using Virtual PC or something like it.
Uninstalling might prove to be a problem as I have read in a couple of posts on another newsgroup.
It can be done, but, not easily.

If you have VS2005 Beta1, the docs are on the first CD. Just put it in the drive and instead of telling it to install, just
select the Readme's that are there.
As for Virtual PC, that is a program by Microsoft to run a "Virtual version"(in memory from your regular install of Windows
XP)of WindowsXP(you install it just as you would on a new drive) and you can even install other software ( like VS2005 Beta1)
and run it. Depending on the speed of your computer (and the amount of memory you have) it may run slow. But, it should run.
You can do a search on MSDN and find info on Virtual PC there.

Yes and no.

You will have no problem running the VS.NET 2005 beta on the same machine;
however, you will have to remove them before installing the next version and
this can cause you a lot of trouble.

I had to reinstall my machine from a Ghost image after removing VS.NET Beta
2005 and SQL-Server Beta 2005; even if I tried to follow the instruction
given on the MSDN side on how to do so as close as possible.
