Colors not printing

Your printer preferences?

I've tried on two working color printers, after checking every setting.
That's why I thought maybe there was something in the HTML that's
breaking this.

There are no borders on that page. The table has cellspacing set
to 1, showing the black background colour between the cells.
And apparently, as Richard says, background colours aren't
printed.

No, it is not. It *could* be a CSS issue if the author had specified
different backgrounds via a media=print stylesheet bit in this case it is
not. It is a browser setting.

I looked at the page with firefox. Print preview revealed a non-coloured
page with no borders (they are not borders, they are a black background
showing through).

I clicked Page Setup and checked the checkbox marked "print background".
Nice pretty colours.

With IE it's a little trickier, you have to *find* the option in
tools>internet options>advanced. It's way down near the bottom in the
printing section, "Print background colors and images". Check and you will
get the backgrounds printed.

You have to tell your browser to "print background colours". By default
IE and some other browser will NOT print background colours at all. This
is by design; it prevents huge blocks of colours being printed when
generally all you want is the text.

In Firefox, you can turn it on by checking the "print background colors
and images" box when in Print Preview (under options). There is a
similar option in Internet Explorer. It's not an HTML error. It's
SUPPOSED to work like that.

Yes... the setting wasn't in the Printing properties (Of course not!) I
found it, and am a happy camper.

Thanks all!

Nope - it's your browser settings.

IE? Then Tools-->Internet Options-->Advanced-->Printing

Well where was it? I just like to see proper closure in these threads, is
all.
