compare and find newer gems

    hello
    is there a way to query gems and find if there are updates to the
    currently installed gems.

    You can use "gem help commands" to see most things you can do with the gem tool
    "gem outdated" is among them and shows you all gems which can be updated.

    You can run 'gem outdated', assuming you have a relatively recent
    version of RubyGems installed. If you don't, upgrade it ;)
