compose date

Hello i have this:
String s = "23/08/2003";

bur i must tu insert this value into one database but the field is in
timestamp format.
I think that i must to convert s (String) to timestamp but i dont know how
can i make this.

Please can you help me to put this value into one timestam database field?

You need SimpleDateFormat.parse.
