Copyright dates

If you want to use the copyright symbol on your site, should you just
use the date of origin, or only the current year, or a combination of
both?

I currently use © 2000 © 2002 followed by my name.

The latter date presumably needs keeping up to the present year.

I am *not* a copyright lawyer - or any other kind of lawyer, come to that,
but...

The standard usage is "Copyright © 200x Your Name" where the date is the
year that the copyrighted material was created. If the site has material
created over a range of years then it's "Copyright © 200x-200y Your Name".
There's no need to put the current year as part of the notice unless the
material has been created in the current year.
