Creating true image thumbnails (smaller size)

How can my ASP serverscript read a JPG file and create a small thumbnail
image? I don't mean simple resizing, but true resizing so that the image
actually gets smaller in size. Is this possible without the use of a 3rd
    party component?

Does anyone have a code example for me?

    Best regards,
    Christina

You'd need to use a component, in classic ASP. I ~believe~ that ASP.NET has
image manipulation functionality though. Here are some components.
http://www.aspin.com/home/components/graphics/images I have never used one,
so I cannot comment on any of them.
