IE for Unix was an unbelievable lump of shite anyway.

But if you're a glutton for punishment...
http://browsers.evolt.org/?ie/solaris
http://browsers.evolt.org/?ie/hpux

After renaming the file
/ie/solaris/5.0_with_OE/ie5setup.zip.old_and_broke
with 'mv' to ie5setup.zip I get ...

<bash>
$ unzip ie5setup.zip
Archive: ie5setup.zip
End-of-central-directory signature not found. Either this file is not
a zipfile, or it constitutes one disk of a multi-part archive. In the
latter case the central directory and zipfile comment will be found on
the last disk(s) of this archive.
note: ie5setup.zip may be a plain executable, not an archive
unzip: cannot find zipfile directory in one of ie5setup.zip or
ie5setup.zip.zip, and cannot find ie5setup.zip.ZIP, period.
</bash>

.... with the other file ...
/ie/solaris/5.0_with_OE/ie5_sp1beta_sol
==>
$ ./ie5_sp1beta_sol
bash: ./ie5_sp1beta_sol: cannot execute binary file

also with the readme ...

<quote>
To install, make the file
executable and run the
setup program: "chmod +x ie5setup" "./ie5setup"
</quote>

is it only for Solaris?

Is IE for Solaris only for Solaris? Yes, of course.

In other news, IE for Windows is only for Windows; IE for Mac is only for
Mac; and IE for HP-UX is only for HP-UX.

Never heard of this book. Author?

Why Verdana? Lose it, it's not suited for the WWW.

Fonts in pixels are NOT suited for the web.

Why add this? Do you expect italics?

Again, again, again...

Accoding to the specs this could also be:

background-image: url("Images/pgbg.jpg");

Have you tried it?

This puts the image dead center.

And it repeats X and Y.

Try removing one or more of the background properties and see what
happens. Start, though, by adding quotes to the background-image value.

I would l;ike to thank thoses that responded in a positive manner and
gave useful information.

I have solved this problem.
