No need to apologize Els, thats what networking is all about, a exchange of
ideas and information, Golded has to be exited because it's reading internally
and then it will read it's changes. I was shelling out, and editing.

Good grief!

Howes this look now?

I looked at your (--) and didn't see a space but your
delimiter actually shows as working in this last message, so
humble apologies. Still be better if you put it above the
Gufus though ;-)

No need to apologize Richard.. like I was saying to the other Gentleman,
networking is a exchange of ideas and information.

This message came from a few computers, first from a Fidonet BBS computer my
BBS, edited with Goleded, then to my Server, then to Soupgate, then to the
Internet via www.easynews.com. And trust me, the headers are also broken,
Soupgate is free and long gone, and unsupported too.

Look good now? I hope. :)

It only shows as working because you have set your newsreader to
understand OE sig-delimiters, which lack the space.

So it is. In that case I take back my apology! Also, from Gufus' latest
message, it's still not working! How a space can just disappear I really
don't understand. Mind you, was it ever there in the first place one has
to ask?!!

The name is now below the delimiter, but there's still no space after
the dashes.

No need to apologize Els,

Wrong person, it was me who said it and I take the apology back, and
your delimiter is still not working. There's no space after the two
hyphens. Sheeeesh!

With Outlook Express it's a known fact that it eats the space you type
at the end of a line. Don't know about Fidonet though.

Okay.. I might have to enter it in Hexadecimal, I don't know, I just might
scrap the whole delimiter thing. <grin>

Could I get a quick reply to this.. Still not working?

However, your signature is not part of the headers but the content. The
signature identifier has around a very long time, a little research may
put an actual date on it. The signature identifier does not have any
bizarre characters, just hyphens spaces and carriage return, has not
removed them anywhere else in the message body, what you conclude!

Hay dude...

Ya, thats one thing I learned about networking many many years ago, But I do
understand what the reason is for this. And I will find out one way or
another if it's working. For now my .sig is fine. :)

This has been a hilariously great read. However, given the notion that
a picture is worth a thousand words, may I humbly point to:

http://mozilla.edmullen.net/moz_sigtag.html

.... and ...

http://edmullen.net/temp/sig1.jpg
.... wherein one cannot *see* if there is a space after your or my two
sig hyphens ...

.... and ...
http://edmullen.net/temp/sig2.jpg
.... wherein one *CAN* see by examining the highlighted text that your
sig hyphens are NOT followed by a space but mine are
