Customizing tiles by passing parameters

Hi,
Is it possible to customize the display in Tiles by passing
parameters.For example,I have a page that has a boolean value set for a
panel,that determines if the panel will be displayed by default or not
on page loading.Can I pass a boolean value to the struts-tiles
framework rather than hard coding the same.Can someone please help me
in this?
