Data grid processing

Hi
I have a query on usage of datagrid in THE ASP .NET page.
If a datagrid is populated from multiple table (each
column of the grid from different tables ).How can data
from a specific column be saved back to the table , when
changes has happened to the editable datagrid in different
columns.This means data has to be updated to different
tables.
Kindly advise.
