Define type based on attribute

Is it possible to define the type of the value based on the attribute.

i.e.

<DataField fieldName="ExpDate">dateValue<\DataField>
<DataField fieldName="ItemCount">intValue<\DataField>
<DataField fieldName="Text">stringValue<\DataField>

Is it possible that if "ExpDate" is set as the attribute that only a date value can be entered.

The field names are taken from an enumeration. They must be unique and all of them must be used.
