DetailsView - Limit text length?

Hello,

I am using ASP2.0 & DetailsView to insert or update records into SqlServer
2005.

How can I limit the text input by the user so that it does not overflow the
field length?

If I have a 32 char field defined, I just want to truncate the field and
pass it along to the insert/update command.

Is there a way to do this?
