directly writing to JARs

.... was not possible the last time I needed such functionality.
..
I had to go the monkey way:
..
1._ effectively moving the file off the JAR file
2._ editing it
3._ reJARring it back into the same JAR file
..
Is that still the case?

Would that not always be the case ?

You may (and I think can) avoid editing a disk file.

But you will always need to read it from the zip file
and write it back.
