disabling close verb from a user control that implements IWebPart

I have a user control that is utilitising IWebPart (so that I can use like a
webpart).

I need to disble the user from being able to close this particular webpart.
As the control does not inherit from 'WebPart' I cannot use:
this.AllowClose = false;

Does anyone know how I can disable a particular verb from such a user
control?
