DropDownList value from VBScript

Hi there,

I'm implementing a CustomValidator and for the client side validation I'm
using VBScript (which I'm not too familiar with). I have an example of
getting the value of a text box from within the script (see below) but I
can't figure out how to do it for a drop down list.

eg.
document.getElementById("<%=txtGenericClaim.clientid%>").value

How do I go about getting the SelectedValue from a dropdownlist using this
method?
