Dynamic DropDownList loses index

Hi,

I have created a dynamic dropdownlist and set the selected index to that
control. When I add the control to the table cell via a
<tablecellname>.Controls.Add(<dropdownlist>), the index resets to the first
value (0 index). I set a quick watch on it in VS 2003 and see the selected
index get changed to the value I want but when the control is added, the
index is reset to 0. What am I missing here. I am using ASP.NET with C# in
the 1.1 Framework.
