Eclipse and CVS

Hi,

I'm trying to use the CVS Perspective from within Eclipse.

I want to connect to my local machine's repository using pserver. I
need to add a repository location to the CVS browser -- however I
don't know what to type in the fields. It asks for an IP address, a
path to the repository, a login name and a password.

How do I do this?

Do I need to have some "daemon" running? (I don't know that much about
networks). How would I do this?

What IP address should I use? 127.0.0.1 ? Password and login name?

Thanks

Mark

Hi,

Yes, you should have a running CVS server I think.

Then for the host, you probably can use either localhost, or 127.0.0.1 .
The path to the repository should be the absolute path where the CVSROOT
directory can be found.
The login and password will be those defined for one of the users of your
CVS server.

What OS are u running?

If i assume Win NT/2000/XP then your best bet is cvsnt
(www.cvsnt.org?).
Download, install and run cvsnt, set up repository where you like your
src files to be stored.
Then connect to that repository. I would suggets first trying to
connect with
wincvs - because they are closely link together.

When that works - try celipse.

Good luck.
