Error When Dragging Control From Tool Box to Web Form - Memory Err

Error Message: "Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often
an indication that other memory is corrupt."

I receive this error when I attempt to drag a control from the Visual Studio
tool box to the web form designer of a page. I am using Visual Studio 2005.
I have tried to add a completely new web form that is blank and I receive
this error with that page as well.
