Even more inconsistent sitecustomize.py importing with PYTHONPATHrolled in...

    However, the following doesn't import sitecustomize.py:

    ~/folder$ ./script

    While the following DOES import sitecustomize.py:

    ~/folder$ export PYTHONPATH=
    ~/folder$ ./script

    Bizarrely, none of the following import sitecustomize.py:

    ~$ export PYTHONPATH=~/folder
    ~$ ./script

    ~$ export PYTHONPATH=~/folder/
    ~$ ./script

    ~$ export PYTHONPATH=~/folder
    ~/folder$ ./script

    ~$ export PYTHONPATH=~/folder/
    ~/folder$ ./script

    Does anyone have any clue why there's such a huge level of inconsistency
    here?!
