Favicon.ico not working

Hi I have a site that I am trying to get the small icon in the address
bar to work I am using the code

<LINK rel="SHORTCUT ICON" href="http://www.myaddress.com/favicon.ico">

Now it does appear in firefox but when I add to favorites in ie it does
not. I tried linking to msn's icon(http://www.msn.com/favicon.ico) and
it did work when I added to favorites, so I dont know where this
problem is from my server or coding, or the image. Oh also when you go
to image by typing the absolute address
(http://www.myaddress.com/favicon.ico) only an x is there but if you
right click and go to show image it comes up, It is exactly 16 x 16 so
I dont know why that is. any help is greatly appreicated

Im sorry Danny I dont understand what you are suggesting I do to fix
the problem, remove the link so theres no code but I would still like
it to be there on firefox and netscape. Would it still be? Thnaks for
