Formatting date of bound data in datalist

You wouldn't think it would be complicated, but I can't seem to figure out
how to convert this bound date into standard mm/dd/yyyy format:

<tr>
<td><strong>Expiration Date</strong></td>
<td><asp:TextBox ID="tbExpires" Text='<%#
DataBinder.Eval(Container.DataItem, "dtExpires") %>' Width="300px"
runat="server" /></td>
</tr>

I tried adding .ToString("d"), but it didn't work. Any thoughts?
