Function pointers: performance penalty?

No, because it's perfectly explicit within the body of the post.

So by beginning sentences "If I'm ..." you think I'm making assumptions
about someone else? If so, please learn some English.

OK, forget it.

But you still seem to think function pointers are only useful for
implementing dynamic code paths rather than static ones. For the latter
case, the subject of the thread makes sense. (And yes, that means the
programmer might be considering converting static to dynamic code paths.)

For someone that claims to know so much about the English language you
seem totally oblivious to much how your rude, condescending and arrogant
rants make you look like a total prick.

Well, to be fair, we are talking about two different things here.

Command of the English language and consideration for other's feelings
(which, as you allude to, is basically equivalent to self-awareness [of
what a jerk you are] - and, obviously, a willingness to change your
behavior based on that knowledge [self-awareness]) are two distinct and
largely uncorrellated aspects of a human personality.

Now, to get this back on topic for CLC, and as I'm sure you are well
aware, there *is* a strong correlation between autism/Aspergers's
sufferers and both of the following:
1) Strong verbal skills
2) Total lack of self-awareness of one's effect on others

And, as we see, day in and day out on CLC, the combination of the above
traits can be lethal.

Phil is secretly Adam? Nah, can't be.

No-one, supernatural or otherwise, has ever removed any ribs from me,
and so, whilst I have no recollection of any humans existing before me,
I suspect I am not Adam.

Ah. No, not that Adam. (In fact, I don't expect you to know him, but I
do expect that Seebs knows who I mean, and why.)

No clue. I may have known once, but I have a memory like a sieve.
