I need to realise Reporting Util that gathers all statistics on system usage (clips downloading). The only way to access statistics is server log.
I would like to ask all experienced professionals to advice to me best practices in this area because I have never faced with such problem.
My suggestions:
1) To parse *.txt log file every time operator requests a report. (simple way, but bad performance).
2) Implement log synchronization with DBMS (hourly or daily) using for example Quartz.
