gem install issue - possibly RubyForge?

I'm having a gem install issue. I can install most gems with no problem:

! sudo gem install twitter
Successfully installed activesupport-1.4.4
Successfully installed twitter-0.2.1
2 gems installed
Installing ri documentation for activesupport-1.4.4...
Installing ri documentation for twitter-0.2.1...
Installing RDoc documentation for activesupport-1.4.4...
Installing RDoc documentation for twitter-0.2.1...

but one fails:

! sudo gem install platform
ERROR: could not find platform locally or in a repository

(This is the same one from the "one-liner?" thread earlier.)

I hadn't actually found that name in the docs, it had just been a
guess, so I e-mailed the creator of the gem. Turns out I guessed
right, and he's able to install it on his laptop and a remote host. He
said I should check with Tom Copeland but I thought I'd first ask here
for gem cleaning tips. It seems that if he can download it fine and I
can't then the problem's probably in my install. I was on the preview
release of the new RubyGems, but I just did a gem update --system and
the issue persists.

Jesus.

I swear the author lower-cased it in his e-mails.

I noticed the capital "P" in the download page at RubyForge, the .rb
file there has a lowercase "p". A bit confusing.
