MIDP2.0 includes a CommConnection, which is meant for serial ports, so I
think it's possible at least with some phones. Haven't tried it for
myself, though. Some Pre-MIDP2 phones might have individual APIs to give
you access to the serial port, too (ie I think Siemens phones give you
access to the infrared port etc).
