Godaddy Domain Reseller Accounts Any Good?

I am thinking about reselling domains through Godaddy / WildWest

Their setup dosent let you know who is buying what you basicaly have to
take their word about what was sold.

I have had bad experinces doing this with Advertising Companies that
dont pay per click but pay per sale where I see click throughs but no
way to know if there are sales.

has anyone had good luck with wildwest or do you know any other
companies that have a way to track customers.

Unfortunatly buying prepaid accounts (blocks of domain credits) of
$1000 or more at some of the domain resellers is too high for me to
justify at this time.

thanks

Also looking for mostly usa businesses offering this service if you
have a company to suggest.

Please respond to the Group only thanks

It's been my experience that when someone
says "trust me," I shouldn't.

It's easy to use the web (e.g. google or BBB or various
attorney general offices) to research the reputation of
an organization or company.

I couln't justify any amount at any time, when the seller says "trust me."

I know people who have had problems with Godaddy. Their underhanded
and dishonest way of doing business would make me think twice before
dealing with them. Godaddy is crap

From the other side of the fence, I have had nothing but good results
using GoDaddy. No complaints and the price is right.

Well I like Godaddy for Domains because when they started they were the
cheapest but I dont know anyone that resells through them.

I was a reseller through Hypermart when they started a free Reseller
program many years ago and I had bad results and never made any money.

The thing is they didnt give any control over the purchases or
information about people so i didnt feel good about the program.

Godaddy dosent give you any information about your customers either or
what they buy.

However i wonder if godaddy emails your customers with promotional
advertising the same way godaddy emails everyone that buys a domain.

It takes a couple weeks to put together a decent site that works and I
am not sure if i would get anything out of it.

then again if i bought a Colo server to host clients
and fronted $1000-2000 to enom tucows or
some other place so i could sell domains

thats a lot out of pocket when just starting a small service.

Anyway if anyone knows anyone that resells godaddy or can make
suggestions on how to start or what other programs are good then i
would welcome your input

I'm a reseller for GoDaddy.

I started off over the last year as just an affiliate for GoDaddy referring my customers to links on my site and making money through CJ. After my business has grown though I decided I wanted more controls. I joined as a Super Reseller and so far cant say I have had any major problems. There arent a lot of design abilities but the site pretty much runs itself.

Like with any business you arent going to get rich overnight without doing any work. If you decide to start as a reseller you have to take the inititive to help your company to succeed. Once you have your footing in place the maintenance part gets smaller....but its a lot of work at start.

Hope this helps!!

Would like to try

Hi new on this forum, however I belong to one that uses the same platform, which I like, I guess it's PHP. Though a .Net guy more, I really do like PHP too.

So I handle several GoDaddy accounts and have one myself. Most of my clients are on Website Tonight. I even have an .info one to practice along with my regular site.

I was talking to a tech at GoDaddy and he mentioned I might want to think about being a domain reseller.

I have checked into it and see that it is fairly easy to setup. But I wonder about jazzing up the webpages with my own designs?

Also, are there tutorials about it. I don't want to spend 100 or 200 dollars, to be a salesman. I enjoy websites and progamming, but this does intrigue me.

So I guess, my question would be how long before you start seeing people buy from you? I guess I don't really understand why I would be doing this, and why GoDaddy wants me to do this? :driver:
