Good application frameworks?

Any recommendations for general application frameworks that sit on top of
..net to make writing web apps easier? Basically along the lines of the MS
Application Blocks where things like handling error trapping, configuration,
database stuff are handled. But also extending into areas such as
navigation, making it easier to create edit pages or lookup and search
pages, wrapping complex data objects to hide some of the 1:M nasties,
transactions, etc.

Mixing and matching opensource and free MS stuff is fine. But I'm also
interested in any robust commercial options if there's anything interesting
out there.

Thanks

The 2.0 framework tries to address some of these issues. There are new
controls and wizards for authentication and creating users. Master
pages make navigation easier.
