Help!: Eclipse with CVS problem

Hi.

I am trying to synchronize an Eclipse project with a project in CVS. I
know CVS works as I can access it using cvs commandline WinCVS
and jCVS. However, after some time Eclipse dies and with the error
message

The server reported an error: Too many open files.

With no additional information. Has anyone had this problem? FYI
I am using putty to tunnel CVS through ssh.
