Hiding table rows .asp

In vs.net 2003
I could hide rows in a table with panels (div) eg
table
table
<panel table panel>
table

worked fine

Im trying the same thing in vs.net 2005
and its overwriting the last table when the panel is visible,
im sure its something simple
