I am having difficultly getting a sample configuration to work. I am
trying to use the default.cfg file that comes in the
Arrow-0.1.0.tar.gz download. Everything appears to be working between
Arrow and Apache, but I have a feeling I have an improper config file
for arrow.
[...]
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks,

Would you mind bumping up your logging level to 'debug' (in both the
Arrow config and your webserver's LogLevel) and re-posting (or mailing)
your error.log? it might also be useful to be able to see your modified
'default.cfg'.

I suspect that the problem is that the broker can't find any applets; I
wonder if your applet directory under /etc isn't getting mangled in the
config, as it shows up in the config object as "\/etc/arrow/applets".
I'll add some diagnostics to the logging output that should make it
more readily apparent when no applets can be found.

Hi why,

Excerpts from why the lucky stiff's mail of 10 Sep 2004 (EDT):
the 1st public officially sealed Hobix has arrived. i've been coding
this thing since april. polishing and polysheeng.

Two brief problems I encountered in the installer, due to my peculiar
setup (I love stow):

-e:1: /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/fileutils.rb:361:in `mkdir': No such file or directory - /usr/local/stowed/hobix-09132004/lib/hobix (Errno::ENOENT)
from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/fileutils.rb:361:in `fu_copy_dir'
from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/fileutils.rb:359:in `fu_preserve_attr'
from /usr/local/lib/ruby/1.8/fileutils.rb:359:in `fu_copy_dir'
[...]

(Because I didn't manually create bin and lib and share subdirectories---
might be nice to have it detect this and create them.)

And:

# brilliant, it's all installed. would you like to setup your hobix
# configuration now?? (if not, you can use `hobix setup_blogs' at your
# convenience.

+ setup your blogs + [Yn] ?
-e:1: (eval):178:in `require': No such file to load -- hobix/commandline (LoadError)
from (eval):178
from (eval):124:in `each'
from (eval):124

(Presumably because the lib directory isn't in my ruby load path---yet.)

Also it complained about not being able to install the ri docs, but
since I already know everything, I chose to ignore that.

Now I'm encountering another problem, and I don't think it's due to my
crazy setup. 'hobix edit' on the default yaml (i.e. just writing the
file without making any changes) consistently throws this:

/usr/lib/ruby/1.8/yaml/types.rb:116: Invalid !omap entry: [["hobix", "http://hobix.com/"], ["del.icio.us", "http://del.icio.us/"]] (YAML::Error)
from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/yaml/types.rb:112:in `each'
from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/yaml/types.rb:112
from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/yaml/types.rb:109:in `call'
from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/yaml.rb:322:in `transfer'
from /usr/lib/ruby/1.8/yaml.rb:322:in `transfer'
from /usr/local/lib/site_ruby/hobix/linklist.rb:89
from /usr/local/lib/site_ruby/hobix/linklist.rb:85:in `call'

The yaml, as I said, is just the default:

linklist: !hobix.com,2004/linklist
links: !omap
-
hobix: http://hobix.com/
-
del.icio.us: http://del.icio.us/

Thanks for any help,

This is now better in 0.2c. Up now at go.hobix.com

Yeah, I haven't looked into this much yet. But it's happenin here too.
