How can Python write BBcode modules?

I want write a BBcode module in Python, but I'v not idea for this. Who
can tell me about this arithmetic? ( I'm so sorry for my poor englist)

if you don't need really goof perfomances, you ca use regular
expression... but in fact, string processing would be really better !
